"Swedish Collection Russian Gilded Silverware Views Of Moscow N St.petersburg Box"
To your attention, we present a collection of silverware, which for several decades has been lovingly collected in one of the respected Swedish families. Hallmarks silver - 84 (corresponds to 875 hallmarks in modern reading), with the hallmark of the master. The items collected in the collection were made at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in the Russian Empire. Different shapes and sizes of spoons characterize their different uses: teaspoons, spoons for desserts, a spoon for drinks (punch, compote, etc.), a spoon for caviar, etc. The spoons are depicted sights of the two Russian capitals - St. Petersburg and Moscow: Monument to Emperor Peter 1, Monument to Emperor Alexander 3, Cathedral of the "Savior on Spilled Blood", Peter-Pavel's Fortress (Petropavlovskaya fortress), St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Moscow Kremlin, etc. Jewelry technique of blackening images on silver was very popular in Russia. The grooves on the silver surface were cut by hand with a chisel (engraving) and subsequently covered with black enamel or inked with special compositions. Jewelry items using a similar technique were also made by famous Russian craftsmen and jewelry houses (Faberge, Ovchinnikov, etc.). Partial gold plating. Items are stacked, in a non-original wooden box.
