"Corner Or Corner Chairs And Footrest From Nuristan Afghanistan/pakistan - Period: XIXth"
Magnificent set of two honorary chairs and a footrest made of solid cedar wood, handcrafted in the purest tradition of Nuristan in Afghanistan with woven leather covering. 

Period : 19th century
Circa : 1885 - 1890

Dimensions : Footrest : Height : 22cm x Width : 43cm x Depth : 42,5cm

These Chairs of honor have two backs joined together. 

The posts are carved with turned legs, section holding the square backs, topped with turned and carved fleurons. 

The three posts are carved on all sides with various disc motifs and geometric patterns. Similar motifs on the two back panels from Nuristan in Afghanistan.

The seats of the chairs and the footrest are made of tightly woven leather straps. 
It is extremely rare to find handcrafted pieces in a very good condition, our workshops only had to do a light cleaning to revive the wood and dust the leather straps.
