DESBORDES-VALMORE (Marceline) - 1819-1833 Idylls - Elegies. Paris, Alphonse Lemerre, circa 1920; in-12, LVIII-277 pp., navy blue half-calf binding with corners, spine decorated with 5 raised bands, gilt head. Preface by Boyer d'Agen. Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, born in 1786 and died in 1859 was first an actress before becoming a French poet. She published her first collection in 1819, from 1823 she left the theater to write.
