Pair Of Important Opaline Cornets Vases 1830

Description:
White opaline, painted and gilded.
These large vases with the perfect shape of simplicity have a celestial blue background on the base and the neck. Two matte black rings with golden threads delimit these blue parts.
The central body is the color of opaline (white), decorated with three mascarons with the heads of dogs. Gold and blue nets frame these portraits. The perfection of the form is one of the most complex works in manual glassware because the slightest imperfection of the curves would be noticed.
These vases have kept the label of the store in which they were presented.
The opaline objects had a great success throughout the 19th century, the manufacturers offered the most varied forms and often the prowess of glassmakers like our vases.
