The main source of inspiration for Yvette Cathiard is the woman, her clothes, her accessories. 33 of his works have become book covers.
When she was 20, she met Bernard Dimey, a poet and songwriter, with whom she shared the same address for 14 years. After his disappearance in 1981, the publisher Christian Pirot asked him to write his biography. She therefore wrote "The Wound of the Ogre" which received "The Charles Cros Literature Grand Prize". She then published a novel "La bite de l'Ange" (now out of print) Edition Christian Pirot.
