Known for his audacity, he is considered a precursor of the Art Deco style. He created the fashion house that bears his name in 1903. Beyond these daring creations, he also painted landscapes, particularly in the region of Saint-Tropez because he owned a villa there. The Alexandre Vasiliev Foundation keeps, in addition to clothes and accessories by the fashion house, several paintings by the hand of Paul Poiret, as well as personal effects.
