"Portrait Of Mrs Winfield Sifton - Philip Alexius De László 1916"
.Mrs Winfield Sifton, of American origin, was known for her taste for luxury and sumptuous receptions in the London of the 1920s, and was dubbed the best-dressed woman in Europe in 1923. Her last husband was Paul Dubonnet, owner of the spirits of the same name. She died in Paris in 1956 in her private hotel.

This portrait signed by Philip de Laszlö is characteristic of his very personal style:

This portrait of three quarters was painted in May 1916 (date indicated next to the signature) but is also recounted in two letters kept in the archives of the Philip de Laszlö Foundation.)
