"Genre Scene, Late 17th Century"
Oil on canvas late 17th century, Flemish genre scene presenting an interior during the meal. In the foreground, the table is set. The blue velvet tablecloth is covered with a white tablecloth on which are placed pewter plates, fruit and a dish containing a poultry, round loaves, two knives and an ewer. In front of the table, a large glazed earthenware cup containing two ewers separates two hunting dogs on the right, showing interest while the cat on the left, seems frightened... In the center of the painting, a woman raises a purple curtain, watching for the arrival of the guests. While in the background, a man is cutting up a hare.
