Cristallerie Royale de Champagne in Bayel, known as the "crystal city", was one of the most important French manufactures of mouth-blown crystal. This ancestral know-how began in 1666 when the famous Venetian master glassmaker, Jean-Baptiste Mazzolay obtained authorization from the Sun King to create his workshop-factory.
