Christ Polychrome Haute Epoque flag

Object description :

"Christ Polychrome Haute Epoque"
Beautiful Christ from the 16th century, remains of polychromy, significant brown patina (can be cleaned according to taste), height approximately 50 cm. Note the redone hands, probably in the 18th century, an assembly by flipot (see photo) and on the other 2 redone fingers, those which are stretched, I think that the Christ must have had his fingers folded inwards (the 2 original remains), but that no longer being done in the 18th century, the sculptor found a compromise. Note the characteristic elements of this period: the beautiful face soothed as if sleeping, no sign of suffering, the drawing of the rib cage in a small circle forming a Roman arch, the feet in internal opposition, the body almost straight.... can -being of the Flemish school.
