QUALLALINE workshops in Tunisia, 19th century
Qallaline or Kallaline ceramics is a type of ceramic characteristic of Tunisian architecture from the 17th to the 19th century. It bears the name of the district of Qallaline in Tunis, where the production most often came from. The name of the district comes from the plural form of the Arabic word qallāl meaning "potter".
Very good condtion, despite minor manufacturing imperfections, and small enamel ginning on heel and neck (please check photos).
