Superb and large bronze sculpture with brown patina representing an antique woman, the Muse of rhetoric, Patroness of singing, Polymnia. She wears her hair in a bun with two bows and a crown of flowers. Very nice work of draping on her dress. She poses thoughtfully, her head supported by an arm resting on a pile of rocks. Very decorative large sculpture. No artist's signature but stamp of Reduction Mécanique Collas in Paris. Very nice brown patina with some very light scratches. Napoleon III period around 1860.
