Circa 1900/1920 Tunisia Spectacular adult size Ceremonial tunic or Tunisian festive Jebba for circumcision dating from the beginning of the 20th century. Very fine vermilion red wool felt embroidered with yellow-green vegetable-dyed silk flock. Clever embroidery in satin stitch and applied with extremely fine braided cords. Matching tapered silk pompoms at the bottom and sleeves (one missing on one sleeve). Symbol of the Hebrew Menorah or candlestick with seven branches in the center of the tunic with probably a Jewish origin (?). Note two tiny moth holes of 1 mm each - under an armpit and in the back - Only defects noted. Clean, stain-free, bright colors. Very good condition of color and conservation.
