Edgar Scauflaire, 1893-1960, Belgian painter of portraits, nudes, still lifes, character compositions and interiors. Watercolourist, Draftsman, Designer of Tapestries, Stained Glass and Mosaics, Painter of Frescoes. Post-Cubist and Expressionist. He was a pupil of Adrien de Witte, Emile Berchmans and Auguste Donnay at the Academy of Liège. He painted many murals in schools in Liège. He directed the Atelier Libre during the Great War. Founding member of APIAW.
