A gilt metal mounted enamel patch box in the form of a pug’s head.

Bilston, England, c.1770.

Measures 3.3 x 3.2cm.

The lid is transfer printed with the words ‘Wou’d you be happy, Learn to be virtuous.’ There is minor damage to the bottom of the enamel lid. The interior of the lid is set with a mirror.
