"In The Taste Of Jacques Besnier, Sterling Silver, Boin-taburet, Paris Circa 1873-1900"
Sumptuous pair of French régence style candlesticks in solid silver. They are the perfect historical replica of a pair of 1729-30 Paris hallmark candlesticks by the great goldsmith Jacques Besnier kept at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. In perfect condition, executed in cast and chased silver, they are the work of the Bois-Taburet workshop, which specialized in historical replicas of pieces created by legendary master goldsmiths such as Meissonnier, Germain, Roettiers, Auguste etc. This famous goldsmith's house was born from the association of Émile Taburet and Georges Bois and lasted from 1873 to 1900. Descending from a family of antique dealers and jewelers, Georges Bois went almost naturally to the manufacture of historical pieces of very high quality. The pair weighs a generous 1155 grams.
