"A Louis XVI Lampas In Paperback Fluted Taffeta - France Circa 1780"
Circa 1780 France A panel, part of a court dress, in brocaded fluted silk lampas with a cream taffeta background dating from the Louis XVI period. Fine fluted stripes of sky-blue color, dotted with a semi polychrome bouquets of different sizes. Two and a half strips complete with their edges, 75 cm wide each. Traces of seams from a court skirt and a few very diffuse and barely visible light halos of water. Very tight weaving (like a sheet of glossy paper) and resistant enough for any "reconversion", including seats. Good general condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: Trapezoid 149 cm base, 138 cm top. Height 102cm.
