Large bronze bust with brown patina representing helmeted Ajax decorated with Centaurs, mermaids and fantastic birds, grandson of Zeus. This bust rests on a circular base and a rectangular counter-pedestal with a side ogee embellished with an Ajax nameplate. This bust has retained all its very beautiful original patina and bears the foundry mark on the side of the Compagnie des Bronzes Bruxelles. Bronze from the Second Empire period.
