- this engraving after Joseph Vernet (Avignon 1714 - Paris 1789) by Franz Edmund Weirotter (Insbruck 1730 - Vienna 1771) is in fairly good condition, but there will always be some traces of manipulation - - the French court ordered about thirty From "Vue de Port Français" to Vernet, Weirotter executed several in engraving, this one being entirely in the style of the two paintings: "Le Calme" and "La Tempête" by Vernet - - although dedicated, this plate is not located, very difficult to find, perhaps the edition of this engraving was unsuccessful...... - 20 x 28 cm. for the plate, we can add a few centimeters of margins, very little - - with traces of old assembly on the back -
