The work is signed bottom right C. Quinton, french painter of animated landscape paintings.
Clément Quinton (1851-1920) was born in Paris and started exhibiting in 1879 at the 'Salon des Artistes Français'.
He received many medals and travelled a lot to paint his pictures, which are full of light and characters.

Many works by this artist are preserved in museums. The ancient painting and the frame are restored.
