PAIR OF ANGELS CANDLES Upper Austria
around 1680 Linden wood, carved, polychrome painted and gilded.
Height 47.5 cm and 47.0 cm (to the tip of the spine). Each on a round base representing full length two candlesticks belonging together in a slightly out of place posture with outstretched wings, holding a candlestick. damaged part and rest.

After the death of his father, who was a stone carver and master builder, Guggenbichler completed his education as a sculptor with his brother Johann Michael Guggenbichler in Dillingen/Bavaria. From the 1670s he made altars, church furniture and sculptures for important churches and monasteries. for example Sankt Florian near Linz, as well as altars in Straßwalchen, Mondsee Monastery, Irrsdorf, St. Wolfgang, Oberwang, etc.
