Luca Madrassi (1848-1919) is a French sculptor of Italian origin, who died in Paris in 1919. He began his artistic studies in Rome then joined the School of Fine Arts in Paris Passing through Carrier-Belleuse's studio and then working for Gustave Doré, the young sculptor immersed himself in the trends of 19th century sculpture. He exhibited at the Salon of French Artists from 1879 where he obtained several mentions. He was naturalized French in 1890 and became a member of the Society of French Artists. Known for his production rich in statuettes, busts and allegorical subjects, we note in his productions a tendency to neo-classicism.
