BIOGRAPHY
Jean-Yves Blécon is a painter, born in Maure-de-Bretagne in 1939. The sea, the land, the music, the characters are themes that inspire his work in pencil, gouache, oil or watercolour. Life took Jean-Yves Blécon to Paris when he was 14 years old. “I lived in La Madeleine and went to paint in Montmartre. It was line drawing. My parents had signed a permit so that I could draw nudes. I went there by bike. I left my boxes there. One day they were stolen from me. I decided not to go there anymore and to paint alone,” recalls Jean-Yves Blécon.
In 1968, Jean-Yves Blécon moved to Provence. There he met the painters Arsène Sari and Pierre Ambrogiani, discovered the colors of the Sainte-Victoire mountain, the Alpilles or Cassis and affirmed his talent. In 1976, he returned to Brittany. He has a gallery in Pont-Aven, exhibits in Paris, Cergy-Pontoise, Marseille, Rennes, Angers... Jean-Yves Blécon knows the honors and receives multiple awards including a gold medal of Arts, sciences and letters, in 2007.
