He held a workshop “La Roseraie Moulin à vent” there. He was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris with the landscape painter Alfred-Louis Brunet-Debaines. Jean Marcel Poussart exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris in the 1930s, notably landscapes of the Ardennes. He is also recognized as a painter of the Vendée. And he also worked as an illustrator, for example for the Cosyn travel guides (Guide des Ardennes françaises or for the book Légendes ardennaises (1929).
