Léonard MOREL-LADEUIL (1820-1888) Adam and Eve expelled from Paradise Medallion in gilded bronze, presented on a cast marble support from the 19th century D. total: 27 cm (slight shine to the marble) The subject of this scene is taken from the epic poem "Paradise Lost" by the Englishman John Milton published in 1667. The original model of the work, appearing in a medallion in the center of the so-called Milton shield, was presented by Léonard Morel-Ladeuil and Maison Elkington and Co at the Universal Exhibition of 1867
