In an unpublished translation by Randal Lemoine, these poems by Federico Garcia Lorca are illustrated with five prints engraved by Pablo Picasso and with color and wash drawings engraved on wood. Moulin de Vauboyen in Bièvres in Essonne, Pierre de Tartas and SPADEM, 1976, 1 vol. folio (370 x 280 mm) in sheets under embossed cover and black canvas shrine box from the publisher, author in gold and Picasso's signature in red on the upper cover and author and illustrator in gold on the spine, 71 pp. - (2) ff. (proof of printing and completed printing) - (2) ff. bl. Very good overall condition. Illustrations by Pablo Picasso with 5 original prints, 4 full-page color woodblocks, 10 black woodblock prints. The printing of the woodcuts by Guy Descouens as well as that of the text, composed by hand in Bodoni font size 30, were entrusted to Pierre Jean Mathan. The original prints were printed on the presses of the Desclais workshops. Total edition of 306 copies. One of the 30 copies on handmade paper from Moulin Richard de Bas (No. 13), signed by the publisher and stamped by the Ministry of Bailiff in the supporting document, 2nd paper after 6 copies on Japon Nacré and before 270 Grand Arches vellum. This copy includes, in addition to the final state in the text, inserted in separate folders: - A suite of color woodcuts inset on silk - A suite of color woodcuts inset on Japon Nacré - A suite of all the in-text woods on Imperial Japan - A suite of the five original imprints on old gold Harpagon fabric - A proof of an original imprint on Japan Nacré in color Surprisingly, compared to what is announced in the receipt, we do not we don't have the suite of woodcuts in color on Grand Vélin d'Arches, the least prestigious among all the extras in this edition! Obviously very rare on this paper!
