Cassis Le Cap Canaille By Zimmermann

Very pretty oil on wood measuring 14cm x 24cm plus wooden frame representing a Provençal woman contemplating Cap Canaille in Cassis signed lower right ZIMMERMANN Michel ZIMMERMANN and ondulism Michel TOPLEK said Zimmermann or M.Meyer Painter with academic training; after a few classic experiences, exhibitions and competitions won with 1st prizes, he moved towards a more self-taught painting, trying to be the least influenced and to keep a certain authenticity. Exterior painter, he travels many regions in order to always be in contact with the subject. His observation and his experience lead him to innovate a technique he calls undulism: the complete work is composed of multiple juxtapostions of slightly curved twin keys which give the painting an undulating effect. These works are most often in gouache but also in oil.
