"Biedermeier Cubic Box, Walnut With Inlays, Austria Circa 1830"
Biedermeier box in the shape of a cube, meticulously worked. Walnut veneer. Marquetry work with branch slices and mahogany veneer. Several maple and ebony band inlays. Central top with inlaid maple butterfly with burnt decoration. Interior covered in red velvet fabric with cushion. Diamond-shaped mother-of-pearl key badge. 4 attached feet standing outward. Restored and polished by hand with shellac. Brass hinges and old lock in working order.
