TAZA - RAPIERE, XVIII°, Spain - Italy. Riveted ovoid pommel. Square section knuckle bow attached to the pommel and quillon at the base of the fiigreed fuse. Large front and rear octagonal straight quillon ending at the end with balls and collar of engraved friezes. Grand pas d'ane fixed to the ricasso and the quillon by rivets. Bowl carved and pierced with a floral decoration and ovoid medallions with the heads of characters and two medallions, one in a pyramidal lozenge and the hearth with a coat of arms (five white star, horse or wolf, and three petals). Edge of bowl with frieze (accident at the height of the quillon on both sides). Old repair by rivets at the bottom of the bowl at the height of the blade in the collar in petals. Long flat blade of 99 cms. Total length: 124 cms Length of the blade: 99 cms Width of the blade at the heel: 2.6 cms Length of the ricasso: 7 cms Length of the quillons: 37 cms Diameter of the bowl: 16.5 cms In state of conservation and use, in its own juice, traces of old restoration and wear.
