"Crowned Buddha Head Ayutthaya Kingdom"
Bronze with brown patina in Thai style from the 17th - 18th century, dating from the beginning of the 20th century. The Buddha Shakyamuni with a serene expression, marked by half-closed eyes, elegantly arched eyebrows, an aquiline nose and full lips forming a benevolent smile. The elongated lobes with lotiform earrings. The crown elaborated in a floral headband and surmounted by a conical ushnisha. Height of the head alone: 36 cm Provenance: Estate of dealer and collector Claude de Marteau Sold with certificate of authenticity. Careful shipping, insured at 100% of the value.
