"Art Deco Period Desk Circa 1925"
Art Deco period desk. The staircase form presents the beginning of a modernist line. The cubist of the trays is reinforced by a wide moldings (in beech and mahogany). It contrasts with the delicacy of the base in fluted turned sheathing, all surmounted by beaded hooves. The marquetry with flowered basket and flowers (front and back) enhances a successful know-how. All the panels include in the center a rosewood background enhanced on a boxwood net framed by macassar ebony. The drawer is in burr walnut. (Writing height 78 cm, width 52 cm) The handle is wrapped in a curved shape and the keyhole is reminiscent of marquetry. This piece of furniture offers functionality and rarity.
