"Louise Germain (1874-1939) Ducks"
Louise Germain (1874-1939) Ducks, oil on canvas, signed lower middle 25.5 x 39 cm. On the back Exhibition label of the Galerie Druet rue du Fbg Saint-Honoré in Paris, n°3855. This painting was exhibited at the Galerie Druet around 1905/1907 (the gallery moved to rue Royale in 1908). According to contemporary testimonies, Paul Cézanne appreciated the talent of Louise Germain who was the only woman whom the Master tolerated on the subject. He even acquired a painting representing ducks from "Maisonneuve", a merchant on rue Thiers in Aix.
