Transition Period Cabriolet Armchair Attributed To Pierre Malbet

Beautiful Cabriolet armchair from the Transition Louis XV / Louis XVI period - 18th century. The backrest is hectic, the armrests end in a whiplash, it rests on four fluted spindle legs. This armchair is by Pierre Malbet (Carpenter in seats), It is not signed, but was formerly part of a series of identical armchairs, some of which were signed, so we can attribute it with certainty to Pierre Malbet. Malbet Pierre - carpenter in seats - Master on November 18, 1765, went bankrupt in September 1773. He lived in rue de Charenton. Despite a brief career, he produced quite a number of Louis XV or Transition seats. Armchair typical of the Transition period close to the creations of Georges Jacob.
