Original copper (100 x 80mm), engraved by Gilbert Poillerat composed of a cat hidden behind works, including one titled "Fables de La Fontaine" observing a mouse, with the monogram GP, most certainly an ex-libris project.
In a perfect state.
Gilbert Poillerat (1902-1988), is well known to the public as a decorator and great master ironworker of the 20th century, with, among other things, the famous creation of the majestic doors of the swimming pool of the liner Normandy. He is a little less known for his talents as a carver and engraver. This was, however, his initial training at the Ecole Boulle. He devoted most of the end of his life to engraving. The copper that we offer comes directly from him, it is monogrammed GP and we guarantee it on invoice.
Exceptional!
