Biography:
Gérard Thalmann (1944 - 2012) was born in Switzerland. He participated in collective exhibitions: 1981 1984 1988, Salon de Montrouge near Paris. He showed his works in personal exhibitions from 1979 at the Anton Meier gallery in Geneva, from 1981 at the Karl Flinker gallery in Paris, then at Pascal Gabert in 1993.
He presented a series of "painting windows" imagining a place of passage between him and the social world, in 1984, another series of paintings on the theme of the death of Aeschylus, in 1984 nocturnal landscapes and "workshops".
Gérard Thalmann's compositions are characterized by structures with a geometric or non-geometric tendency, sometimes transparent, which overlap and are as many openings to meaning in the paintings where other elements of reality, exteriors, small animals, fruits, stand out. ...
