"Allegorical Statue After Charles Vital-cornu"
Bronze group from the late 19th/early 20th century representing an allegory of victory (known under the title: The triumphant victory) published by the Société des Bronzes de Paris (founder's stamp) after the work of Charles Vital– Cornu whose signature and numbering appear on the base. Model in good presentation condition according to its age, original nuanced brown patina, molded black marble base with two closed points (fixings from an old plate). Height of the base: 9.2 cm not included in the dimensions indicated. A similar example appears in the dictionary of 19th century bronzes (Kjellberg). Charles Vital-Cornu (1851/1927) is a French sculptor born in Paris, his works are present at the Salon since 1876, his talent and his mastery have earned him numerous awards and nowadays several national museums exhibit his works. He will receive the Legion of Honor in 1896.
