Object description :

"Pen Holder Or Razor Holder Or Glasses Holder In Carved Wood 19th Century"
Amusing object whose exact function escapes me. It is a carved wooden case intended to receive feathers, a pair of glasses or even a razor and the list is not exhaustive.... It represents a sailor carrying an oar, a little in the English or Dutch genre . Perfect condition, small slit at the base which does not interfere with the pivoting of the lid. Handwritten inscription in ink inside that I could not decipher. Beautiful blond wood patina. Height: 24 cm in total and 18cm for the receptacle.
