Usually I prefer the uniqueness of stone or wood statues.Made by hand, they have the advantage of being unique. Our statue today does not meet this criterion.
From the 19th century on its wooden base, it is in plaster, painted by hand. But stripped down and luminous, our character is quite simply Beau.
He professes Humility through meditation. His tenderness is touching and his realism spoke to me. It therefore had its place in our gallery.
Dressed in a black cassock and a white surplice with gold borders, he wears a trefoil cross over his heart.
Dimensions of 97 cm high by 28 wide and 20 deep.
This piece is in good condition despite some small gaps.
