Germany, circa 1900Jugendstil wall bracket
Hammered and embossed brass, wrought iron, assembled by rivets.
H.: 59 cm. xl. (plate): 15 cm. (24 cm. for the upper part).
No deformation, traces of use and painting restored to the same (black ironwork).
My opinion: everything I like in German Jugendstil: purity of lines, sobriety of patterns, modernity, choice of materials and quality of assembly, ...
This object, even incomplete (to imagine also with an oblong glass LÖETZ type) is sufficient unto itself.
