"Carved Letter Opener"
Important late 19th-early 20th century letter opener carved with Japanese decor over its entire surface and on both sides. On the main side, the handle represents a child handing his mother a cup and the paper-cut part is decorated with floral decoration and musical instruments. On the reverse, the upper part is carved with the back of the woman's garment as well as vegetation and the lower part with musical instruments. The realization is of extreme finesse and great beauty. H: 29.5cm W: 3.8cm Good condition.
