"Rare Inkwell In Polychrome Majolica, XVI Century Deruta"
Rare polychrome majolica inkwell in the shape of a foot with a Roman shoe, made in Deruta.The body of the majolica is fired with the typical colors of the Deruta palette and has been molded with hand applications and stick work with a flat base. The well-detailed Roman shoe is partly in relief and ends in an anthropomorphic mask of great plastic and executive capacity.
The heel of the foot is decorated in relief with a beautiful green acanthus leaf. There is a hole above the foot.
Excellent state of conservation and no restoration.
