"Bronze “german Shepherd Dog” By Tf. Cartier – Early 20th Century"
Beautiful proof in bronze with bronze patina signed Thomas François Cartier (1879 - 1943), French animal sculptor known for his passion for dogs which he represented on numerous occasions. This work features a German Shepherd standing still, licking its left front paw. Concentrated on his task, ears erect, the dog wears a large collar that one imagines in studded leather. His posture is slender and his fur shiny. The signature is affixed to the right on a dark green bronze base. The artist sends us his love for man's best friend through this touching and singular work. ****** Period: Early 20th Century Excellent condition.
