Gennadi Vassilkov, "venice", Oil On Canvas

Gennady VASILKOV was born in 1947 in Ukraine. He trained between 1962 and 1973. He thus studied at the Art School of Vijnitsy, at the Higher School of Arts and Industry in Kharkov and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tbilisi. Until 1980 he specialized in design at the Experimental Studio of Design and Architecture in Senej (Moscow). He seeks to reconcile in his work all these artistic tendencies: design, painting and theatre. Since 1989 he has lived in France. Today he divides his time between the south of France and Morocco. Heir to Malevitch, Kandinsky, old and new Russia, Gennadi Vassilkov builds his work between dog and wolf, between night and early morning, like a long poem where the light of the North and the light of the South emerge in turn.
