Buddha in sandstone gilded with fine gold. Position of the “earth connection with witness”. On a plinth with three lotiform levels. It was offered between 1861 and 1870 to a relative of G. Soulié who, after having studied at Polytechnique, was appointed to Thailand as an embassy attaché in Ayutthaya and then in Bangkok. The Buddha was offered by King Rama V himself.
