Beige terracotta with matte black varnish;
The pictorial technique, known as Gnatia, consists in applying colors directly on the black varnish; it was invented in Taranto in the workshop of the Ilioupersis painter around 370-360 BC. AD and exported throughout Apulia.
This type of ceramics was found in abundance at Gnathia (now Egnazia).
Trilobed collar that gives the piece a very elegant aesthetic.

The piece surprises with its extreme lightness and the purity of its material, which makes it even more surprising that the piece has remained, despite its small manufacturing defect, in its original state.
