"5-door Sideboard In Rio Rosewood, Attributed To J.leleu, Art Deco - 1940"
Sideboard in Rio rosewood, rosewood and sycamore veneer, attributed to the famous French designer Jules Leleu (1883-1961). It opens on the front with five moving doors mounted on lighters, inlaid with diamonds, lemon tree fillets, floral motifs in mother-of-pearl and various woods. These doors are equipped with functional original locks with keys. The sycamore interior, underlined with amaranth fillet, has seven drawers in the central part, while the left and right parts each offer two adjustable shelves, decorated with friezes on their edges, and mounted on racks. Two tapered columns at the bottom constitute the front pillars. They are topped with brass rings and end with ornate feet covered with plaques. The periphery of the three visible faces of this piece of furniture has a molded frame bevelled inwards. The low crosspiece is slightly hectic. This piece of furniture has benefited from exceptional work both in its design and its production, symbolizing in itself Leleu's know-how. ******** Period: 1940 Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop.
