Miniature jewelry box in the style of Michael Mann. South Germany, 17th Century Miniature gilt brass jewelry box in the style of Michael Mann. Southern Germany, first quarter of the 17th century. Measures 6.7 x 3.9 x 4.9 cm. In the style of Michael Mann (active in Augsburg and Nuremberg, died around 1630). This beautiful little safe is extensively engraved on the outside with flowers and foliage. The lid is set with a small handle and a keyhole concealed by a pivoting escutcheon and the box rests on four ball feet. The interior of the coffin bears a complicated locking mechanism with two spring-loaded latches that operate in unison when the key is turned. This little jewel box is in exceptional condition, without damage or restoration and even retains its original key.
