Tazza standing bowl in gilded and patinated bronze with neo-classical decoration in antique bas relief. This work by Ferdinand Levillain (1837-1905) depicts a procession of Greco-Roman figures leading farm animals and food. Fine and long branches forming garlands run above their heads. In the center, a stylized sun shines, surrounded by decorative masks. The whole is surrounded by a frieze combining arabesques, flowers and leaves. This cup rests on an elegant pedestal and bears the signature of the F. Barbedienne foundry. Ferdinand Levillain exhibited at the Salon of French Artists from 1861 to 1903, he worked his entire career for the greatest goldsmith houses and received the Legion of Honor in 1892.
