Romeo Dumoulin (Tournai 1883-Brussels 1944)
Belgian painter and engraver

He oriented himself very early towards an art profession: after his primary studies, he became an apprentice at the Lithographie Saint-Augustin in his native town.
After the death of his father, he moved to Cambrai where he found another job in order to complete his artistic training at the academy of fine arts of this French city.
In 1909, he left for Brussels where he settled permanently.
He then worked in commercial and artistic printing, and became the author of numerous advertisements, covers and posters (Société nationale des Chemins de fer belges, liqueur des Bottresses, …). Besides this professional life, he creates works for himself. After a first exhibition in 1918 at the Acolian Hall in Brussels where he had considerable success, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and in Parisian galleries, as well as in Antwerp, Nice, Buenos-Aires, Algiers,...
