"Bronze "hercules And Lichas" After Canova"
Hercules and Lichas - after Canova (1757-1822). Spectacular bronze probably dating from the end of the 19th century. The patina has been picked up in several places. This piece is exceptional due to its dimensions and the quality of the carving. The details of the anatomy of the two subjects have been given great attention. The whole exudes great strength. The tension of Hercules in opposition to the abandonment of Lichas, the latter resisting only by his hands, only reinforces this impression.
